Improvements

We asked what you wanted to improve. Lets address some of these items below and talk about it.

Bring in a skyvan/ other jump aircraft
Everybody loves to jump a Skyvan. ONCE. At the end of the day its really expensive to bring additional aircraft to the middle of nowhere, and while the skyvan is fun for a couple jumps its terrible to turn loads with. At the end of the day it just doesn’t fly enough to justify bringing it to Moab. Hopefully when the boogie is bigger, we can bring it in.
Helicopters. Yeah we have a local helicopter on the airport but they only do tours. We have asked repeatedly, they declined. We are working on bringing in an outside heli. but if you know anybody please let us know.

Winds
During the boogie we will be announcing the winds with each load, and enforcing the USPA BSR wind limits. You may pull off a load on a 20 and 15 minute call, Please make your wind decisions before a 10 minute call.

Off-sites.
The way these happen changes a bit year to year. Last year we offered pre-registration and that proved difficult when winds changed the plans. Many of the jumpers that aren’t planners or registered for the boogie last minute, had problems getting on the offsite loads. This year the boogie will run off of jump tickets. Off-sites will be scheduled by time the same as last year. Manifesting for them will be opened up once manifest opens on Wed. Due to the logistics of shuttles the off-site jumps are the only jumps you may not pull off of for any reason. No refunds will be issued. If you are unsure about the winds, wait until the last possible moment to manifest.

Manifest
Logistically this encompasses so much. But the long and short of it is it needs to be improved. Last year manifest didn’t have enough help. This year we have installed remote monitors for jumpers to be able to watch loads, timers, and have installed a dz wide PA system so you will actually be able to hear us. Little steps each year.
We have been accused of cooking the books because we don’t use burble. LOL. We don’t use it the majority of the year because we are a small dropzone and it isn’t necessary. We inquired about burble just for the weekend of the boogie. It costs 35$ per registered jumper. The entire registration cost (if you registered early was $35) We are happy to use it if its what everybody wants but registration cost will double.

Raffle.
This year the raffle will be done entirely online after the boogie. We will post a video, and the drawing will be pulled from used jump tickets. Or you can purchase additional raffle tickets for $5 each. We will mail out prizes the week following the boogie.

Off-site off-sets
Lets consider offsets for a few moments.
